Everybody has a story... once upon a summer, I participated in a three week virtual summer camp with other youth from different parts of the world. During this experience, I learned to identify and apply emotional intelligence skills necessary for thriving in a rapidly evolving digital culture. I practiced self awareness, self management, social awareness and social management in virtual settings.
The above skills helped me to develop positive character traits for storytelling. In the process, I applied computational thinking steps to analyze and evaluate details about my idea to write a story. Emotional Intelligence (EQ) - I had the opportunity to understand and apply EQ skills to successfully manage my personal and social interactions. In addition, I leveraged the EQ experiences to develop positive character traits for digital storytelling.
Computational Thinking (CT) - I continually applied Emotional Intelligence (EQ) skills to develop positive character traits and write original digital storylines. I accomplished this by analyzing and evaluating step by step attributes of computational reasoning relevant for problem solving and creating original digital artifacts.
Digital Authorship - As a culminating activity in a 3-week virtual experience, I demonstrated mastery of skills in Emotional Intelligence and Computational Thinking for personal and content development. The outcome is that I published an original digital literature (e-book) on open-source electronic platforms for the world to enjoy my talent for writing. At the same time, I am exploring real-world competencies in entrepreneurship from my e-book royalties.
