Computational Thinking (CT)
Theme: Computational Thinking for writing original digital storylines.
Everyone needs a working knowledge of core components of computational thinking such as decomposition; gathering and analyzing data; abstraction; algorithm design; and how computing impacts people, society, and human behavior. This awareness enables us to apply executive functioning skills that generate advanced solutions relevant for creating original digital artifacts.

It begins with an idea or a problem that needs a solution. The question becomes: how do you arrive at a transferrable solution that can be simplified and automated in a transferrable manner? From a writing perspective, what is your idea for a story or e-book?
Exploration of Algorithms
To create an advanced solution, we must understand how the computer solves problems. We explore the use of algorithms to create step by step processes that generate transferrable solutions.
Do You See Patterns?
When we have explored how algorithms follow a set of rules or finite number of steps to generate solutions, we look out for where the steps are applicable to our own ideas.
Develop Algorithmic Thinking
We do well to think about our own set of rules or finite steps for generating solutions with our own ideas. We develop these steps and the rules necessary for solving problems with our ideas when these steps are followed.
How can you apply Computational Thinking?
Apply the steps and evaluate your solution. What problem will your character solve in your digital story? Or what will be your digital storyline? The opportunities are endless.
